Successfully complete 150 hours of Board-approved courses covering the topics required by the ABA in subjects related to real estate appraisal. Only 75% of the required course hours may be taken online. Course must include 15 hours of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). The 15 hour USPAP course must be taken the classroom. Please visit the Appraisal Board website for providers in your area. |

Pass the school exam. |

Satisfy the experience requirement with a minimum of 2,000 hours of appraisal experience in not less than 18 months. This experience should be documented on the experience log . The state may also request experience documentation in the form of reports or file memoranda and should be available to support the experience claimed on the log. |

Fill out the state provide application , and submit experience log, documentation of education, documentation for any “yes” answers for items 11-21 on the application and fee of $400.00 to the Board. |

Once application has been approved, applicant will be provided written notice from the Board with the Arizona Appraiser Approval Form which is necessary to take the exam, as well as an Appraiser Examination Candidate Handbook. Follow the directions in the Handbook to schedule your exam with the Promissor. Pass the Board’s State Exam. |

In addition all licensed and certified appraisers must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 28 hours of appraiser continuing education approved by the ABA, without duplication of material, during each two year renewal period. Only 21 hours of CE may be done online. A student may use qualifying education classes for CE or for qualifying education but not for both. This 28 requirement should also include a 7 hour USPAP course. Please note that USPAP course must be taken in the classroom. Licensees will receive their renewal application in the mail (to the last know address) not more than 90 days nor less than 60 days before the renewal date. Application along with fees and copies of education certificates must be mailed to the board no later than 30 days before the expiration of the appraiser’s license or certificate. |
